Real world – take one normal human being, chop finely into a series of essential financial and non-important commitments (would you like fries with that?), add a hazard course of distractions and irritations to spice up the remainder, and then sautee in governmental contempt for the general populace.

In many ways ‘rules of thumb’ just stem from a need to quantify anything and everything in our path. I’ve found good course controllers set out an appropriate amount of work for each week in the study guide, and balance the time needed to absorb concepts rather than just cramming information.

Congrats on having the courage to move from a ‘comfort’ discipline into a career minded one. I don’t know whether I would be likely to make the same decision – too bound in an eclectic “I want to learn what I want to know” mindset

Hi Grace, sorry about the late reply. The Library partnership that you read about is still in the process of being finalized, and I am told is primarily tied to Queensland universities. I will try to find out more and get back to you.

Helpful tip: Massey students using the Bay of Plenty Polytech library, can do so with a Massey ID card or hard copy of their enrolment confirmation and suitable ID. BOP Poly is affiliated to Waikato University, where Massey and Waikato are part of a wider joint lending service for university libraries (all in, except Auckland Uni).
